On International Women's Day, I like to give some appreciation to the fantastic female directors I have worked with over the last year. I was honoured to be asked to work with Nia DaCosta (The Marvels) a second time on 'Hedda', her brilliant new interpretation of 'Hedda Gabler'. Also, another chance to work with the wonderful China Moo-Young ('The Rook', 'Intergalactic', 'Pennyworth'), this time on 'Road Trip'. Also working a second time with Amanda Brotchie, (first on 'Gentleman Jack'), this time on 'Renegade Nell', both written by Sally Wainwright. I had two projects with Nicole Charles- 'The Following Events Are Based On A Pack Of Lies' and 'Passenger'. And a first time working with Jaime Babbit on 'My Lady Jane', Tanya Hamilton on 'Get Millie Black', Meenu Gaur on 'Murder is Easy', Joasia Goldyn on 'A Town Called Malice', and last but by no means least, some very enjoyable time spent with Georgi Banks-Davies on the brilliant 'Kaos'.

Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale is now available to watch on AMC+. A story of a modern day witch using her powers for good, and trying to clear her daughter's name. This was a great project to work on with the lovely Justin Molotnikov directing- I've been working with him for more than a decade and it's aways a great experience.

It's been a long wait for one of my favourite ever projects- Tuesday, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
I was privileged to storyboard the entire film, though all in rough thumbnails.
It was one of the most innovative and moving scripts I'd ever read, and working with Daina Oniunas-Pusić on this, her debut feature as writer-director was a wonderful experience.

I had a lot of fun working on 'The Heist Before Christmas' with the lovely Edward Hall directing. It's a beautiful, heart-warming festive tale with James Nesbitt and Timothy Spall as Santa. Available to watch on Christmas Eve at 8pm & 2 am on Sky Max/Showcase.

Working on 'The Swimmers' was a wonderful experience- I learnt a lot about the plight of refugees fleeing conflict by boat, how terrifying and dangerous it is. This is the true story of Yusra Mardini and her sister, competitive swimmers fleeing the war in Syria. It was directed by the brilliant Sally El Hosaini and co-written by Jack Thorne. It is now available to watch on Netflix- and everyone should- it's an incredible story.

I was lucky enough to work on a film earlier this year about this amazing young woman- Yusra Mardini, and her sister Sara- 'The Swimmers'. Their story is truly inspirational, though it was deeply upsetting to learn about the stories of refugees like them who don't have such a happy end to their journey.

It's International Women's Day, so I'd like to give some appreciation to some amazing female directors I have worked with recently: Alice Troughton on Baghdad Central, Alex Helfrecht on Winterreise, Daina Oniunas-Pusić on Tuesday and China Moo-Young on Pennyworth. Female directors are still not getting the same opportunities as male directors, so it's particularly impressive to see these talented and hard-working women making it in a male-dominated industry.
